When tripping, there are a lot of things people can do. They can sit back and listen to some music, however, choosing a genre can be a bit tricky to suit your mood.
Other people like to sit outdoors and listen to nature whilst there’s a lovely sunset, which is always an amazing experience. However, there are a lot of people who love to watch a good movie when tripping.
Whether it’s mushrooms or acid, there’s going to be a movie out there that will make your experience even better.
We’ve compiled a list of our favorite flicks to watch when tripping and we hope that you find it useful. After all, you need to be having a good time and this is the way to do it!
1. Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse
If you’re a fan of superhero movies, then look no further! If you love cartoons, then look no further! If you want a trippy experience, well, you know the rest.
With hypnotizing colors and some incredible animation, this movie provides one of the best experiences you can imagine. With lots of different environments and a funny script, this wall-crawling bonanza could be just the movie for you.
Plus, it has Nicholas Cage trying to solve a Rubix cube, and who wouldn’t want to see that?!
2. Pineapple Express
Come on, you knew it had to be on here! Seth Rogen and James Franco are at their comedic best in this film, with the duo getting high and experiencing a whole bunch of problems as they try to go about their lives as weed dealers.
Accompanied by Danny McBride and Craig Robinson, you just know that this movie will be leaving you in stitches in the first ten minutes! If you’ve already seen this movie, you should try it when high – it’s awesome!
3. The Shrek Films
You must have been living under a rock if you’ve never heard of the Shrek films and you have to be honest, they are absolute classics.
Although not every person is a fan of every movie, with some of them having different characters involved in each flick, the first two Shrek films are absolute comedy gold.
With lots of different references and amazing chemistry between main characters like Shrek and Donkey, you’re bound to have a good time getting lost in the enchanting world of Far Far Away!
4. Finding Nemo
This has to go down as one of the best-animated movies in human history. With lots of incredible visuals and some very likable characters, this movie follows a father as he searches for his lost son. Oh, and they’re both clownfish.
You’ve probably heard of the movie before, however, if you haven’t seen it, then you need to watch this movie when tripping.
The deep blues of the ocean, the pulsating pinks of the jellyfish, and the turtles that are high throughout the movie – it’s got it all! Just remember, fish are friends, not food!
5. Alice In Wonderland
We have to draw attention to the modern adaptation of this absolute classic story. When Alice falls into a different world, she has to try and get home and meets a few intriguing characters along the way, to say the least.
With Johnny Depp excelling as the eccentric Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham-Carter as the evil Red Queen, you can feel yourself becoming more and more immersed in Wonderland, hanging on to the edge of your seat as you fly through this mystical place!
6. Labyrinth
Labyrinth is a must-see for any stoner or lover of shrooms, with the tantalizing David Bowie making this film as memorable as they come.
Playing the Goblin King, Bowie makes sure that you walk away from this experience feeling fulfilled and satisfied with what you’ve just watched.
What can you expect? We wouldn’t recommend this movie unless it had trippy visuals, so you can expect lots of those! There are also talking puppets. Yep, you heard that right! This is a journey from start to finish and we want you to enjoy the ride!
7. Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy
We all know how bonkers Will Ferrell’s movies can be and this choice is no exception. Follow the life of Ron Burgundy, a news anchor with a big reputation and an even bigger mustache!
With friends like Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd, the last thing this guy needs is for someone to challenge his ego, which happens.
The scene to watch out for is a fight between all the big news stations, with some hilarious cameos like Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson, you’re bound to have a great time!
8. Step Brothers
Remember in the last choice when we mentioned Will Ferrell’s movies being insane? Here’s one of the best. With Ferrell starring in the lead role, accompanied by John C. Reilly, these two 40-somethings will do anything to avoid being grown up.
When they’re forced to live together, they get up to all sorts of crazy stuff involving a drum set, a collapsing homemade bunk bed, and even the Catalina Wine Mixer. If you know, you know!
9. Any Of The Jackass Movies
If laughter is your aim, then Jackass is most certainly the movie series for you! The great thing about these movies is that there is no real order to them, they just get older with every film.
If you get grossed out easily then these might not be for you, however, if you want to laugh so hard you could pee your pants, then you need to see these films when high as a kite.
Because of the stupid stunts, they get up to and all of the pranks they pull on each other, you’ll need to settle yourself in for a wild ride!
10. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
A visual masterpiece, this film by Edgar Wright combines the comedy of Michael Cera with some comic book graphics and some incredible fight scenes.
Along with some heart-pumping music and a good script, this film adds something different to anything else previously mentioned on our list.
Although it wasn’t received as well when it first came out, this movie has aged like fine wine and makes for an exciting watching experience.
11. Ted And Ted 2
Like Family Guy? Like Winnie the Pooh? Then you need to see this movie. Okay, Ted isn’t like Winne the Pooh, apart from the fact that he’s a talking teddy bear, but he smokes and drinks like a human being.
With Ted bouncing off of a childish Mark Wahlberg and enjoying some antics in the real world, you almost forget that the bear is animated!
Because of how outrageous some of the jokes are in this film, we recommend that you don’t watch it if you’re easily offended. After all, it’s Seth MacFarlane!
